"Could be, or it could be less" True.... For example, if the American taxpayer gets some sort of ownership or secured loan or other 'equity participation' in the institutions we bail out with our money... than the toatls 'cost' to the taxpayers might in the longer-run be very much lower. Absent that however and I'll place by betting chips down on the 'cost will be MUCH higher than all the liars are saying now' choice.
