Are they arriving for the lack of government or the government handout and lack of taxation? Judging by the popularity of Sarah Palin, there must be quite a culture of self-reliance in Alaska. Since getting lost in snow on a skiddoo is fatal, the importance of self-reliance is no doubt deeply ingrained.

Money is quite a pheromone to humans so it's not surprising the government loot attracts quite a following. It will be spent and those in position to receive the windfall will be near the well-head.

Sometimes, such as with Saudis, they spend the money distant from home [in the flesh pots of London and on Louis Vuitton in New York, or aircraft manufacturers in the USA] but quite a lot is spent in Dubai and on local grandiosity.

Meanwhile, goodbye Washington Mutual shareholders.

This is in a serious bust phase now with actual fear in the air. Everyone should calm down because we have nothing to fear but fear itself. Hmmm, that has a nice ring to it. I should patent it.
