Maybe the DOJ suit against Microsoft will hurt tech stocks. Maybe not. Since when did a browser become an integral part of an operating system, anyway? What about a sense of fair play! If IE is woven into Windows 98, what's Netscape to do--beyond closing its doors? I say "Cheers for the Justice Department." Keep IE and all browsers out of operating systems. If you need a word processor, go get one. If you need a spreadsheet, go get one. If you need a browser, go get one. And if you have IE 4.0 on your system and decide you don't want it anymore, just try to delete it (all of it). You may be unpleasantly surprised at the results. Gee, I'm feeling better already. So maybe the three hours I spent (unsuccessfully) trying to get the damn thing off my system were wasted afterall.
