Starting to go through Simon Property Group's (ticker: SPG) filings. Those stoopid lifestyle centers should be in for a world of hurt. There are a couple in Minneapolis that are already struggling with vacancy...was at Easton in Columbus a couple months ago and it was dead on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon. Several merchants said their biz is off by over 25%. The problem I have right now is if we get an intermediate term bottom, even if it's at 1000-ish we could get a pole-axing rally off the bottom. Everyone has seen the Credit Suisse mortgage reset charts and we are right at the point where subprime resets start tailing off, so i'm sure we will start hearing the "real estate is bottoming" mantra.
