Now....If you go down to the Ford dealer, You can buy a Ford Escort for $11,000.......Super! Does it have air conditioning?...No. Does it have an automatic transmission? No. Does it have a doughnut tray or coffee cup holder?, Maybe........Even on the TV adds....they say "nicely equiped...one hell of alot more".......$15,000 or so.
Same thing with TP-600s.......They go from $40,000 to $85,000.....Do you want a top-o-line TWO sided printer?...Do you want mugshots?.....Do you want Super-Presort, double compression, Identifinxicator Marlin 6 versatility?......Do you want leather seats?...Doughnut tray? Do you want a SERVICE CONTRACT to go with that $55,000 machine?......Yup.
Also....Selling large numbers of these machines will alow the price to drop while the margin is maintained....Economy of scale.
And my word! Identix WILL compare first quarter of this year with first quarter of last year.....That's the way it is done in corporate america.
