The Alaskan Independence Party, a 35 year old political party that is the 3rd largest in the state of Alaska.
The founder of the party, Joseph Vogler. Mr. Vogler was killed in 1993 in what was described as "a plastic- explosives deal gone bad."
To quote Mr. Vogler..."The fires of hell are glaciers compared to my HATE for the American government."
Lynette Clark, the successor to Mr. Vogel as the head of the Alaskan Independence Party, and to quote Ms. Clark, "In my heart and mind, I'm an Alaskan. I don't identify myself as an American."
Who was a member of the Alaskan Independence Party.....Todd Palin, whose wife attended party meetings. Who gave speeches to this party on at least two occasions.....Sarah Palin!
And what is this state of Alaska that the Alaskan Independence Party wants no part of being a state in the United States of America?
1) For every dollar the Alaskan taxpayer pays to the U.S. Treasury, they get back in federal dollars $1.84.
2) Alaska gets back at a rate 30 times the national per capita average.
3) Palin NOW denies wanting the federal funds to build the "bridge to nowhere", but she KEPT the full $223 million dollars in the federal payments.
4)As a Republican politician recently commented about his fellow Alaskans, "We're basically divorced from reality up here."
