I totally agree - but USA still produces things.

I talked to an economist today, who had another view on what made USAs problem. He said that the growing economies in Asia are benefitting the world economy, but that USA is less export focused than Europe, where selling to a customer 200km is considered export, and that's why USA's export hasn't risen enough.

Again, this is a very simplified explanation, but an interesting point of view. What do you think?
