It's not SEVERANCE, it's hiring bonuses and bonuses for former Lehman execs.

It isn't 2.5 billion over 10,000 workers. It's $2.5 billion over 200 workers.

If the search industry was requesting a humongous bail out from taxpayers because Google had invested poorly in fradulent, highly leveraged, illiquid securities which it didn't know the value of...I'd say let Google fail as well.

I'm a realist and a capitalist. This isn't capitalism, it's corruption.

Capitalism REQUIRES governments in order to function. Good government doesn't hamper capitalism, it encourages capitalism by making it run in a manner that inspires confidence in all players both buyers and sellers. This doesn't inspire confidence. It inspires rage.

Barclays can pay Lehman what it likes apparently. I hope they get sued out of their shorts for it.

The industry that supports the Barclay Lehman asset though requires US taxpayers taking a huge amount of risk for their private debacle. THAT makes me furious.

Everyone should be furious.

Let them fail.
