I’ll bet that 98% of the deliberations by the McCain campaign’s inner circle during the next four days are focused how to prevent a fatal screw-up in the VP debate.

Whether you want to admit it or not, the VP debate is most definitely The Big Worry for the campaign. If things manage to go well on Thursday after all, the rest of the campaign ought to be a stroll in the park by comparison.
