Suggest we check out who the analyst is at Smith Barney in Tokyo before assuming that the information provided is going to have an impact on CYMI. Do we know who the analyst is who covers tech for SB (also used for Salomon Brothers) out of Tokyo? Could be that they are quoting the company (Nikon) directly, who are trying to make CYMI concerned about competition, and that they are quoting this information verbatim to try and regain market share. One has to take what the company provides with a grain of salt. There are sometimes other motives.... Remember, word has it that ASMLF has tied up with Nissei Sangyo to distribute their products in Japan and are gaining ground in Asia - a big threat to Nikon and Canon who are worried about their market share in DUV steppers
