no offense, but i think you're a little out of your league here.
have you seen amdahl's track record with companies and projects?
this management team is expert at buying and burning everything
in its path. i cant count the number of projects that were started
and killed half way into development not to mention an entire
company in fremont (name slips my mind at this point).

as for the takeover idea, takeover by WHO? remember, amdahl was
and mostly still is big iron. thats not where the action is, not
to mention the fairly few number of players in this game. ibm
wouldnt do it, they need the competition to avoid anti-trust.
hitachi cant do it, i think they make 2 machines a year.

amdahl is a ghost ship without a rudder. no brain trust anymore,
and they seem to have lost any kind of leadership since mr. amdahl
himself fell off the bow. 18-24 by year end? maybe in terms of
total employee count. thats what they do best, hire and fire...
