I hate to say this, but I think the House GOP really screwed the pooch on this vote today, and tossed McCain under the bus as well.

When middle America watches their life savings melting away because of a frozen financial system and our economy seizing up, there will be a lot of angry voters in November.

They handed the Dems this issue on a silver platter, where they (the Dems) can say that they supported the President in an attempt to avert a financial meltdown and a bunch of GOP pols put ideology above the interests of the country.

I don't like this scenario, but that's how I see it..
