HI tito, gotfried and all the amat bulls on this thread,
Just thought I'd check in see how your amat holdings are doing. For those that don't remember me I posted here back in the summer when amat was ripping upwards seemingly out of control by alot of panic buyers. I suggested that although I recoginized amat as a excellent co. that it's price was getting way ahead of itself. That did not go over very well on this thread. I also said that if it broke above 100 I would short it. This real brought the wrath of the bulls here upon me daring me to do such a foolhardy thing. Well I did so anyway and now I am again asking the the counsel of this well informed group of bulls who know much more about amat then I do. Do you think I should cover my short yet? I still believe amat is overvalued but I already have over a 20 banger in the bag. Is holding on and hoping that it gets down to about 30 where it belongs as foolish and greedy as those who had a good profit in this stock at 80-90-100 but insisted that it was going to quickly rise to the absurd valuation of 120 and now have lost all those gains and will have to keep there$ tied up and wait to regain that paper$ or bail with much less. Again I am not as knowlegable about amat as many of you here are but I think I will soon take my profits and wait for a reasonable entry point to go long. What do you guys think? Is this a good strategy? Was I actually right this summer when I suggested that amat was overvalued and I put my $ where my opinion was? And does anyone think that amat is still overvalued? I still do but I also think the easy $ has been made here and long term we will go up. Nice to talk to you all again. RR
