spinning this as a democratic failure is laughable. The dems and repubs were supposed to deliver half their constituency (the safe seats) to vote for this because it is unpopular. THe dems that voted against it like Loretta Sanchez HAD PERMISSION to vote against it. Republicans couldn't deliver their half even with Bush and Paulson begging and McCain taking credit for "bringing the party together" on the weekend talk shows! The stock market today basically invalidated the stupid republican position that they were going to "Call Paulson's bluff". They sure did that, the fools. Now watch all the whining and crying from the same people against the bailout as they lose their jobs. Mccain fell another 10 pts today, and North Carolina the banking capital of the US is going to go Obama, for sure now.
