>>IJ, If for one moment should you stop draining the last ounce of dignity from a father or mother that can't pay for food on the table and placing a roof over their kids head without your ilk collecting the bankruptcy funds for the moneychangers...

Still the bleeding heart.

Don't you understand that people who fail to pay their just debts transfer those burdens to others?

The other factor that you miss is that credit is generally extended to those who have the means and can reasonably be expected to repay the obligation. Thus, it is reasonable for society to expect everyone to carry their own weight.

There are obligations that come about due to illness and those are dealt with according to the ability to repay. Most health care firms have repayment policies based on the relationship of family income to the national poverty scales. Typically people pay nothing if they fall under 2 or 3 times the poverty level.

We also have a fresh start that we call bankruptcy in its various forms.

This is our system of balancing obligations of people to society.

It is a reasonable and well cast system. The fact you do not like it may just be ignorance. Or can you offer a better approach?
