One of the (many) failures of this administration was it's inability to impress upon the citizens the range and depth of this problem. People incorrectly see it as a 'bailout' of Wall Street, when it is in fact a rescue of our economy.

Chuck Todd said today that the Democrats who voted against the bill were all facing tough reelection campaigns, where their Republican opponents were going to use this vote to hammer them. Only a few passed this 'profiles in courage' test (including at least one Republican, from Las Vegas).

But, the Democrats delivered more than their share - 60% of their bloc, as opposed to the Republicans paltry 33%. Given this problem was caused by conservative ideology and its implementation by a six year majority of Republicans and their two term President, it is astonishing to hear anyone blame the Democrats.
