Thats not what has been going on in the area of mortgages. It is NOT a situation where noble good government loving Democrats struggled with Republicans who say "no regulations". The reality has been the opposite of that. Listen for yourself: hotair.com Maxine Waters - We do not have a problem at FNM and FRE. The GSE's are working just fine. Gregrory Meeks raking the regulators over the coals - as if they were the problem. FNM/FRE have no problems. You're trying to give them heart surgery when they have no problem. Barney Frank - no safety or soundness problem here. Ed Royce calling for new regulatory regime over FNM and FRE. Don't cling to myths of government hating Republicans - listen to reality.
