This post from Robert Furman a long timer on SI is very descriptive of conditions we are seeing, it illustrates well conditions we saw yesterday when a sold out market sends feedback to investors. A quality stalk by Bob, even though the yield was low, expect lots of this behavior. The stalk properly characterized the prevailing conditions with respect to Supply and Demand.

Well with yesterday's huge wash out,Kvhi's trading was perhaps a small flashlight in a very dark tunnel of trading:

stockcharts.com

candlesticker.com

Yesterday's price action can be called a bullish Dragonfly Doji.

Yesterady in the middle of the afternoon,I noticed a huge bid/ask spread.

Kvhi was bid @ 8.05 and offered @ 8.90.

I put in an order for 1000 shares at 8.06 and the bid never printed it front ran my bid by a penny.

I did this several times all the way up to 8.16.

Then I canceled my orders and got busy.

About 20-30 minutes later the bid was 8.05 again,I put in an order for 1200 shares at 8.06 AND I DIDN'T GET FRONT RUN.

I was awarded with an allotment of 50 shares.

Didn't really even see the trade - I was surprised to see the 50 shares.

All in all the MM don't want us to buy at the discount window they have created with all of this fear.

They setup a huge spread for any poor shmuck scared into selling "AT THE MARKET".

They don't let you even get in line - the commputer just bumped my bid by a penny in split lightning speed.

I didn't try the @ market as I was only interested in the cheap price - a price only allowed to be had by the MM.

JMHO
