Again, it is impossible for the big-government, big-intrusion, big-deficit, big-borrowing republicans (can you say: "Bush and his followers") to recognize that the answer is not democrat vs. republican. The current parties look much the same. Oh, there is this small wind of change being fluttered about by some of the House Republicans - trying to claim the mantle of fiscal responsibility, but Bush, Boehner et al are still in charge. The old republican standard of fiscal integrity is lost in the shuffle. The debt can triple while standard of living stalls and some would see that as economic progress.

They "rest their case" without saying anything or making a single salient point excpet don't vote for the other guy....

As we stumble under the weight of massive debt, massive deficits and weak dollar, the answer from the Bush republicans is only: "yeah we were in complete control for all these years but the other guys would have done worse".

Ron Paul was right.

Warren Buffett was right.

No matter who is in charge next year we have to control discretionary spending, raise taxes, invest in infrastructure which will create local jobs and build payrolls. While we buy time to develop alternative energy and get our financial house in order the next few years will be rugged. All in all, it will be painful for a while. Can't be anything else. No matter who is President.

Priority here or priority there....the "poisoned chalice" will be in the hands of the next government. They are stuck. We all are.

As Steve would, say: "I rest my case".
