Month end recap:

Somehow made up 2% in September. Definitely was a rollercoaster ride. In just watching my own portfolio I hadn't realized how much the averages had fallen. Now I better understand the more than average amount of short fuses on SI lately.

Last year at this time I was 15% behind the Nasdaq and 12% behind the S+P.

Dividend investing is about bouncing principle + rising income.
Reinvesting dividends keeps the income growing regardless of what the principle is doing, following the market around.

No one said it would be easy to watch the principle bounce around.

For 2007 / Principle -11.8% Income +15.76%
To end of Sept. 2008 / Principle -9.1% Income +18.68% ( not updated yet )

I sure wish there was a better way since this loads so slow and always seems to have some sort of problem.
