The point is that the share price at any time reflects what the market expects in the future. My (artificial) example in a previous post showed that Oracle could increase earnings by 30% a year for the next 3 years yet the stock price could still go down over that period. It all depends on what people are expecting even further into the future.

You seem to suggest that Oracle is a good stock to hold for the next 2 or 3 of years, but not longer. What do you think Oracle will do in the years 2000-2005?
