I lived for 18 years without A/C. It's just an adjustment.

They insurance adjuster came out Monday, spent 4 hours going over every nook and cranny of our home. He said he had to go back to the "office", layout the house, write down every measurement of every room that was damaged as well as the roof, cart barn and garage as well as itemize all our lost posessions. He's suppose to meet my husband sometime today to go over his recommendations and explain how he got to these numbers and issue us and the mortgage lender a check. I've already filled out all the papers required from the our mortgage company to set up a special escrow account from them to pay the contractor through.

The adjuster also said my home was inhabitable. We were fortunate enough to have a good friend who is a real estate agent and she got us into a house directly across the street from her that State Farm approved. The movers came yesterday to pack up what little we had left and today they are hauling the remainding of our posessions to the rent house. The Sleep Number Store were gracious enough to go just down the street to the rent house and set up our new beds and they went back to our home and took away the old ones.

I have to say, going through a hurricane and sustaining damage was a whole lot easier when I was a kid!! Going through it as an adult sorta sucks. But, we are far better off than a whole lotta other people so we are counting all our blessings!
