GAMBRO Healthcare Becomes Company's First Major National Account
and Represents The Largest Contract Award In Concepts' History
International FiberCom Inc. (NASDAQ:IFCI)(BSE:IFC) Tuesday
announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Concepts In
Communications Inc. ("Concepts"), has been awarded a national
contract from GAMBRO Healthcare Patient Services ("GAMBRO").
The contract is expected to generate approximately $4.9 million
in revenue to the company. Concepts has begun work under the award
and all work is expected to be completed by March 31, 1998. This is
the largest contract award in Concepts' 14 year history.
Under the terms of the contract, Concepts will perform on-site
systems integration and sophisticated data cabling installation
services. Specifically, 268 dialysis clinics throughout the United
States which were recently acquired by GAMBRO will be added to
GAMBRO's existing wide area network of 386 dialysis clinics.
Concepts will also be providing and reselling hardware and software
products manufactured by 3COM, Hewlett Packard and Bay Networks.
GAMBRO is one of the leading providers of kidney dialysis services
in the United States.
Commenting on the award, Joseph P. Kealy, chief executive
officer of IFCI, stated, "We have been building the infrastructure
of IFCI over the past 12 months in order to secure these types of
major national accounts in telecommunications and cable out sourced
services.
