I am reminded of during the Boom when a lot of people moved to Texas. A fair percentage were Born Agains, and one of their odder cherished beliefs was how Christians were a small and persecuted group in this country. I laughed when they floated that one by me. When I grew up in Beaumont, they would broadcast church services on Sundays. And the Baptists and the Pentecosts were always trying to vote the town dry.
