** OT ** I'm not a GE fan. The balance sheet is trash. Here's a few select numbers.........
Net tangible equity: 18 Billion ($1.83 PER SHARE)
Debt to equity ratio: 4.697! and that's counting all the goodwill and intangibles (hot air) in the equity.
If you use debt vs. tangible equity the ratio is 30.888 to 1!!!!!
Cash:19 Billion
DEBT: 556 Billion.
Long term investments: 394 Billion.
If 4.5% (18/394)of their long term investments were to be worthless paper,
The company would have no net tangible equity--------POOF!
Do we know what makes up that 394 billion in long term investments?????????????????

GE, the ultimate blue chip? (weren't fannie, freddie and AIG etc?) or a house of cards with a aura of past greatness?

Warren B? I think he's doing his patriotic duty and looking after his other businesses that could be affected.
If GE goes down, the economy is done. His move helps create widespread confidence.

Just my opinion of course, but the numbers speak.
