Bob,

This is my first entry on the Q thread as I've just bought in a notch higher than we are here - about 50 cents. The market makers aren't playing games - they're simply asking 7/16 for you to buy in and are only willing to give you 13/32 if you want to bail out. It doesn't matter if other investors are willing to buy or sell at any other prices. The NASDAQ (especially the bullitin board) is NOT an auction market. The market maker owns the market and dictates terms. If enough investors come in on one side or another, the MM simply adjusts the ask and bid prices to suit the new supply-demand forces. If the stock starts running one way or the other, you will also see a mark-up in the spread.

This is not to say the MM doesn't play games. The MM often feeds the psychology of the mass of investors to their own benefit. They just don't appear to be playing them now.

Just remember this - You cannot buy at the low or sell at the high through a market maker.
