That's why I am holding my nose and supporting the bailout.

Hold your nose with one hand and cross your fingers with the other. If this doesn't work then I don't think there is a fall back position, plus you will have a huge increase in government debt that could lead to an unwinding in T Bills which could lead to a worthless dollar which WOULD lead to the unspeakable.
