It is truly a monument to pathetic software design and it has only survided as a result of an unlimited budget and 10 plus years of rewrites and reinventions. Rod, While I agree with you about Windows, and extend the perspective to almost all Microsoft software, I'm truly interested in your answer to the following: "Name a commercially available software package (one that most of us would be familiar with) that you feel excellent, in all technical respects, from design to finished product, and explain, in layman's terms, why". How about it? The question is not baiting, but a true attempt to develop some perspective on what you consider to be an excellent product. Thanks... David
