"The south shall forever have a blemish on their culture for not desegregating until it was forced on them in 1964."
My recollection was that the North was segretated at the time, and my Aftrican American friend from Louisiana, who later moved to Chicago and then to Maryland where I met him, tells me that in many ways he found the racial prejudice in the north worse than in the south, because it was more subtle.
Where you get the notion that all conservatives are racist is beyond me. I see it throuh our society and regardless of party or philosiphy. You have never talked to some of your democratic union members. If you want to meet some racist homophobic people, you don't have to look further.
Regarding the constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage. I think you just don't understand what the role of the judiciary should be in our society. It is not to act as a junta and impose laws on us, that were never democratically passed. It always amazes that the chanpions of liberalish simply do not believe in democracy, unless of course they agree what the result. What are people to do when the judiciary forces legislation upon them calling it "judicial decision" but which in fact has no basis in the law. I agree that a constitutional amendment is not a good idea. It is just a worse idea to accede to the Nazi judges who want to impose their view of the good, the true and the beautiful on us. Our country and our constitution is democracy, not tyranny.
I will not try to respond further, because when I point out where you are wrong, you don't respond, you just change the subject. Frankly I know you don't have an open mind, but at least I can understand by listening to you why the dem's are having so much trouble winning elections. I know what the problems on the conservative side are because I understand where they are deviating from their principles. With liberals I just don't understand the mental process; but I am learning.
