Crossy - this is not the SUNW suit. AG Janet Reno is asking for a $1M/day contempt charge against MSFT b/c it allegedly violates the 1995 consent decree by forcing the box makers with pack IE with Windows (that is why NSCP bounced $5 yesterday.) Allegedly, it is free with Windows; obviously, the OEM will have to pay nonetheless. While this may have some resemblance with IBM's unbundling decree (and ended with the formation of the 7 dwarfs back in the 60s,) this is a matter of seeing whether IE is an internet OS.

The interesting thing is that this came from the left field (baseball analogy - with a double take <vbg>.) It may be that Reno is doing this for reasons more than one, but rest assured that she is not the one anyone wants to mess with.
