To All: If Ampex were a "one-trick-pony", then the announcement that a Marketing Manager is being hired with what seem to be Business Development responsibilities might be a little worrisome, implying as it does that no "deal" has been struck. Alternative explanations (lacking, of course, any guidance at all from management) are many: a) that a "deal" to evaluate keepering is afoot, and that under a secrecy agreement (that usually protects these undertakings) Ampex might be learning what it takes to succeed commercially with one customer, intending to then widen the scope of the business development effort. b) that Ampex has learned what it needs to know from the commercial standpoint and now is ready push the application to end-users in a more formal sense (business plan, organizational requirements, etc.) c) that no deal is imminent, and the people handling the initial contacts were wrong for the job and more of an insider-type is needed.
Take your pick or devise your own alternative-- again lacking guidance from Ampex, we here in this thread in Cyberland can only guess.
Anyway, since this is NOT a "one-trick-pony", I'm not sure any of the above matters.
Best to all. |
