1. KLIC is a back end company, a packaging and assembly company.

2. KLIC is NOT involved in the technology which moves chips along the Moore's Law path. That is the domain of front end companies.

3. Utilization of KLIC's products depend on the unit volume of ICs produced. Unit volume and dollar volume of ICs have both been rising, but unit volume has risen at a faster rate because of falling prices in two main IC areas, FLASH and DRAM. Unit volume is expected to continue to rise and out pace dollar volume.

4. KLIC has not benefited much from rising IC unit volumes. It is not obvious to me what can occur to change this, aside from an industry boom. Unfortunately, while a world wide financial meltdown has put the industry into a bust, I don't believe anything can restore the industry to the booms that occurred in the past.
