The biggest problem is McCain, IMO.

It's a problem but the biggest problem is the Republican performance.

Palin could have had Biden and Obama on the ropes if this pitbull with lipstick was let off the leash. Biden knew this too, I believe, which is why he was free to attack McCain, his Senate colleague of 20 years.

Your "pitbull" could have F'ed up big time, to the tune of 5% in the polls. You think Biden wasn't on a leash? As for his "attacks" they were very mild in historical perspective. More criticism than attacks... what do you expect?

Had Palin been Romney or Giuliani's running mate instead, the GOP could have stood a chance.

Probably true. But if it was, say, Romney and what's his name, the minister guy, you would be looking at a closer race.

I always said McCain was a weak candidate... and Obama is a strong candidate in many, many ways.
