My parents are 80 and they don't recall anything this bad. Perhaps it's the fact that we are supposed to be so much more advanced as a country and an economy than we were 20, 30, 40 years ago which makes this crisis so much more unbelievable. With all the technology and brilliant people working in the financial industry how the heck did this happen? How could our government have failed us and have been so irresponsible? Maybe in 2 years time we'll look back at this and wonder what the ruckus was all about. I have a feeling it will take more like 5 years for the indexes to make new all-time highs. I have no doubt they will, it's just going to be very very long time from now.
