Wouldn't that be the *other way around*?

Since Obama has the longer record of calling for a defined end to the open-ended American expense in Iraq... while Bush only moved in that direction, in the direction of a 'date certain' (or a 'time horizon' as the WH preferred to phrase it) fairly recently this year, only *after* the Iraqi Government ITSELF demanded a defined end to the occupation as well.

So, rather than 'Obama moving toward the Bush position', it seems to be opposite that has happened... with the Iraqis and the Bush WH itself moving more toward the Obama call.
