The Palin family's average annual income over the last two years is $146,975. They have five children, all of whom have lived at home the majority of that time. Their average annual charitable contribution is $4,053, or 2.75% of their income. Not stellar, but considerable given the expenses required for raising so many children.

The Biden family's average annual income over the past nine years has been $272,227, nearly double the income of the Palin family. Joe Biden has three children, only one of whom was a dependent during a portion of those years. Over those nine years, the Biden family gave an average of $410 every year to charity, or .15% (in other words, not even two-tenths of one percent of income donated to charity).
