I wouldn't say that. Jobs is not dying anymore than everyone else is dying. He has not had a recurrence of cancer, and has no other condition that could be described as imminently life threatening.

It's not so much that something became clear some time ago as that Jobs looked thin and weak at one public appearance, and a bunch of people drew unwarranted conclusions from that fact.
