I believe Steve Jobs only took the job with Apple after he reached the conlcusion that Apple needed to change the direction, and only after he knew he could make the deal with Microsoft. I don't think that he entered the position without a lot of groundwork and thought, and then, within a month, decided on his master stroke. I think that the current management of Ancor made the same type of evaluation, both as to the company, product and market, before they left the comfort of their existing surroundings and entered the coffin which we call Ancor.
