I don't understand what the McCain campaign is thinking. It is one thing to air negative ads. It is quite another to hold political rallies where this sort of stuff happens. Sure, it might help shore up the base, but then you lose the independents.

Well its not helping him on intrade. Obama is over 70% and McCain is in danger of dropping below 30%:
