What is worse is how Palin's rallies have been going. They are feeding on very dark energies with death threats and jingoism.

From a politically pragmatic view, this is stupid. It guarantees a loss. If one turns into a riot, say attacking the press that is present there, then that will cement it. With Palin playing up that she was victimized by an ambushing FCM, there is a very good chance that could happen.
