The wealthy Pakistanis I knew at A&M were about as secular as they come. They were openly displeased with the control that Islam has over their country. "Why doesn't Obama just allow Harvard to disclose his records?" If I were to guess it is because the wingnuts keep making stuff up about him and it helps discredit and marginalize the wingnuts. It is working.
