Nothing has happened here to make AMD designs more competitive, their process more competitive or their products cheaper to produce. Err...you must not have been following the recent news about Shanghai being released shortly? I'd say finally shipping a revised core on a new process node is something that changed. And please don't bother to point out it is not shipping today. If the claims about it shipping this month prove incorrect, you would have a point. Lets wait and see. I suspect Abu Dhabi was very interested in actually seeing 45nm Shanghai's make it to production. Perhaps not though...
