Why does the media allow Obama to get away with saying that 95% of Americans will receive a tax cut under his tax plan. Clinton also promised a middle-class tax cut, however, he broke that promise shortly after being sworn in. Isn't it the media's job to note that only about 60% of Americans actually pay income taxes? It's simply impossible to cut taxes for those who don't pay taxes. Where are the fact checkers on this Obama whopper? Demographics Peter_Frank October 8th, 2008 at redstate.com Since the income earning population (20-64 years of age) is about 60%, then it would be logical that only 60% actually pay taxes.
