Oh come on, was Social Security "dismantled"? The howl from the voters killed that for the Reps. they wanted to keep their jobs. Who wrote "No Child Left Behind"? Bush. How come the Democrats were so effective in blocking judicial nominees if they possessed no checks on Republican power? Bush got all the Supremes he nominated (except Harriet which was SO ridiculous EVERYONE balked). You say Bush is the worst president ever, but this Congress is even worse, especially since they couldn't do a damned thing against such an unpopular president. You know you have to have a veto proof majority, right? The Dems don't. The Reps didn't need it because they had a Rep in the WH. This is the party you want to give true unchecked power to. Pendulum? Try a wrecking ball that continues to gain momentum with every swing. Couldn't be worse than the Republican unchecked power. There are things we have to accomplish, now. Before it's too late. If it isn't already after 8 years of Bush and the ethically challenged Rep majority.
