Arnie, as always great info. Noticed the reference in the ratings last week re: NXTL's number of phones, but did not see the significance until you pointed it out. Also, like the Bubbster, I can't figure out why NXTL took such a large hit from the market downturn last week. The Moody and S&P comments seemed positive to me. Guess most people are waiting for the financials to come out. Bubba is saying they will surface on November 6th.
Direct connect is the key feature of NXTL and the business user is it's target customer. I'm sure no rocket scientist and I see this.My thinking is that many other people see NXTL in this light also, just don't think it can be that significant from a user and dollar standpoint. My guess is that there will be more believers in NXTL real soon.
Know you don't find Business Week very useful, but you may like the statement of Scott Schoelzel. He is the new guru for the Janus Twenty Fund. In this weeks BW he is asked what other company he thinks will be an icon-like firm (his term) in the future. His pick? You guessed it, NXTL. He says, "Nextel. It's a $7 billion market-cap now, and it could grow to $25 billion. I think they're on to something with Direct Connect [a two-way radio in a cellular phone]."
Have you noticed all the Qualcom advertisements lately for its new phones? Digital this and digital that. Somewhat like Intel.
