Democrats make careers out of ignoring unintended consequences of their feel good actions

Here's one example:

Feel Good Action: Protect spotted owls
Unintended Consequence: a profitable government agency went into the red big time.

Spotted owls are GOOD, OK? Nobody disputes that. It's the crazy measures foisted off on forest management that caused the unintended consequences.
