OK. :)

SI is giving away 1 month intro subs now, so here I am...

May I introduce myself ? I've been reading the Clown threads, and other goodies like Mike Burke's thread off and on over the years since the late 90's/early 2000s.

Y'all crack me up ! :) In a good way...

I'm looking to invest my kids education money, about $20k Canadian in something reasonably conservative, yet aggressive enough for their ages of 3 & 6.

I lost WAY too much money in 98,99,00 buying poots on garbage that has either since gone BK or withered so much I could have made decent dough on shorts if I held for a few years.

Also lost on long mining stocks and an Internet gambling company that got raided by RCMP (SNMM, cough, cough).

Even my butterfly spread on a Canadian blue-chip went south on me !

So, umm, I take full responsibility for my decisions but would appreciate thoughts on whether I should wait for Dow 7k, or the 2nd bottom of a double bottom before jumping in for a 13-20 year education investment.

Or just direct me to a nice thread if this is too clown-ish or not clown-ish enough...

What about silver or palladium, physical or mining stock ? North American Palladium PDL.TO has long been on my radar. (Oh, if only I had kept all those gold stocks I bought in 2000... :( )

Maybe I should just re-read that crash book I bought in 2002 written by that Elliot Wave guy, Prechter.
