It's insane that Obama does not have to disclose those details of his life that he refuses to.

When I applied for a Civil Service position in a non-defense, non-law enforcement agency, I was fingerprinted and provided a lot of personal information on my application, including my birth certificate. My references were checked out.

The Vietnam War was underway at the time. I failed the physical because of shooting my .44 too many times and destroying my high frequency hearing, but I had people from the FBI interrogate me about the personal habits of people I knew. They were being considered for positions of responsibility, which I think were commissions in the military.

A neighbor kid wanted to join the Marines this summer. The FBI came to our house and asked us questions about him. We knew the parents but not the kid, and that's what we told the FBI.

My sister works in a vault as a contractor for a government agency that requires a secure environment for national security reasons. She can't have a cell phone or laptop in there. I'm pretty sure she has to go through bug and metal detectors and get searched to get in and out.

Hell, when I worked in the Federal Building within sight of mountain goats and avalanches, I had to have my dang lunch nuked through the metal detector every day. The guards knew me and everybody else in the building, and there was no way to get away anyhow. But I still had to go through the bother.
