I'm with you in saying that --- for many things in the correct sectors --- I believe that valuations are compelling (but perhaps not so-much the broader averages)... if you can afford a longer-term horizon for your investments. Not to say though that things can't still get much worse. As Lord Keynes famously said: "The market can remain irrational a lot longer then you can remain solvent."
