Oh, I disagree here.
He's not pushing wedge issues - which IMO is deliberate. Those are divisive - sure, you'll get the partisans out, but repel the rest.
But the man almost embodies the American Dream, surely: if he can work his way up, so can anyone. That's a pretty powerful emotional issue. Plus he's a fine orator and charismatic speaker, he seems to connect very well with an audience, and he has a powerfully positive style.
Or do you just mean, if he hasn't won these people over *yet*, he probably won't? I think the same could be said of McCain, who's had rather longer to do so...
